Directions for questions 11 to 20: Each of the following items consists of a related pair of words or phrases presented in capital letters, followed by four letters pairs of words or phrases presented in lower case letters. For each question, choose the lettered pair that expresses a relationship similar to that in the bold and capitalized pair.

11.       C   RETINA is the most important part of an EYE, which helps to carry out its function of seeing. Similarly, LENS is the most important part of a CAMERA, which helps to carry out its function of recording images.

12.        C This is a vertical relationship. A person who WALKs is called a PEDERSTRIAN; a person who RIDEs is called an EQUESTRIAN. 

13.        B   This is a vertical relationship. The next step of ACCUSE is to INDICT, and the next step of CONDEMN is to CONVICT.

14.       D A COW belongs to the BOVINE family, just as a CAT belongs to the FELINE family.

15.       B   This is a vertical relationship .A CHARM is used in MAGIC, while a statue is USED IN RELIGION (for worship etc).

16.       C   FINITE   and INTERMINABLE   are antonyms, just as LIMIT and INFINITY are antonyms.

17.       B     PLAGUE adversely affects the POPULACE, just as SLUMS adversely affect a CITY.

18.       C    This is a vertical relationship. A PENINSULA is CONNECTED to the mainland, while an ISLAND is SURROUNDED by water.

19.       D  This is a vertical relationship. Placing something SIDE BY SIDE is JUSTAPOSITION, and placing something UP AND DOWN (of above / below of each other) is          VERTICAL are arrangement.

20.   C  A DENTIST uses DRILL to remove some parts of the teeth. A FELON uses a WEAPON to remove something from the victim. Though this is not a very strong relationship, none of the other options fit.
