Sentence Completion HE-02

 1.       A    The key for the first blank is right in the beginning- The pressure of “population”. Hence the first blank has to be “demographic”.

2.           D      tissues are the constituent parts of an organism. This gives clue for the second blank- whether hormones can affect “whole” organism of not is the question. And “work” fits very well in the first blank.

3.       B   looking at the tone of the sentence, the blank should be something meaning “aversion to”. The only option that fits is “repugnance to”.

4.       D   though opium “dominated” his life, it never ____ him. The blank would be something akin to “controlled”.   The part after the first blanks supports this further. Hence the first blank has to be “conquered “and the second one “gain”.

5.           A    Freud derived the knowledge “indirectly”, so he didn’t ask the children; he asked the adults and “reconstructed” childhood processes.
